Daphnee's Debut

McKaylee loves her little sister! She wants to spend her time with Daphnee instead of me. I even try to bribe her to give me loves but it doesn't work. She loves being the big sister!

She looks so peaceful when she sleeps.

Look at all that hair! It has taken McKaylee a year to get that much hair! What a lucky girl!

What a beautiful little girl!

Daphnee's Birth Story

It all started at 10:00 A.m. on the morning of August 20, 2008. I went into my scheduled appointment to see how much I was dilated. I was dilated to a 2 and I was 70 - 80 % effaced. Jean stripped my membranes and gave me a hypothetical situation. She said, "Okay you will start labor at 3 P.M. come to the Birth Center at 5 P.M. have the baby at 7P.M. Go home at 9 P.M." I was okay with this scenario, but apparently Daphnee wasn't. At about 12:00 I started having contractions. I sat down to eat lunch and they were getting stronger each time. By 12:25 I started to write down the times that I would have contractions. They were about 3 minutes apart, but the contractions were getting stronger by the minute. At about 1:30 I called Russ and told him that I was in labor. He got a ride home from work. We also called our friend to come and take McKaylee. By this time my contractions were so bad that I could barely walk. Russ made it home in record time. We got McKaylee settled with the baby sitter and left. On the way to the Birth Center I had the urge to push. My mom was yelling at me to try as hard as I could not to push. Russ for the first time in his life, drove like a maniac ( I am so proud of him) When we got to the Birth Center at 2:35 P.M. We rushed in and immediately I had Jean, Lynne and Cheritee helping me out. Jean checked me and I was dilated to a 10! My water broke and I told Jean that I wanted to give birth in the water. I got in the tub. I was having another contraction! This one I really had the urge to push. Jean told me that I needed to sit down, but I was literally frozen I couldn't move. They helped me sit down. I pushed and there was Daphnee! I wish that I would have had a camera to get the look on Russ' face! Classic! He couldn't believe that she was here already. 2 minutes after we arrived at the Birth Center! I was told, " That's a record" If that is a record I guess that Daphnee is my gold medal! Daphnee weighed in at 7 lbs. 4 oz. She was 19.5 inches long! She is so beautiful!

We are so thrilled to have Daphnee here! McKaylee loves her little sister. She is very interested in Daphnee, she barely wants to come and see me!

I want to thank Jean for all that she has done for me throughout the pregnancy. She made the experience exactly what I wanted. Thanks to all my friends and family for their prayers and support! Thanks to Russ for being an awesome husband! We love you all! Welcome Daphnee!

We will be posting more pictures of Daphnee at a later date!

Helping Mommy

I was doing the dishes the other day, and McKaylee thought that I needed some help. Whenever she hears the dishwasher door open she comes running (not literally but she does walk pretty fast) She loves to pull out the utensils that are in the bin and throw them on the floor. But what she loves the most is...... sitting on the dishwasher door!
