We finally got our family pictures. But of course we had to schedule a day when Daphnee didn't feel well. She was not a happy camper so we only got a few pictures! Enjoy!

Fort Worth Zoo
Russ and I decided that it was time to take the girls to their first trip to the zoo. We went to the Fort Worth Zoo. They are celebrating their 100Th anniversary!
The most exciting part of the zoo was the White Bengal Tiger. He kept pacing along the glass. The girls were too scared to go near him. I was able to shoot an awesome video of Russ and the tiger. It is at the end of the post! It is a must see! I give it 4 stars!
I have no idea what this animal is but I just had to get a picture, because to me, this is the perfect example of the meaning " Stick thin" Look at those legs. They really did look like sticks.
Daphnee wasn't as excited with the penguins and McKaylee was. She threw a fit when we tried to sit her next to McKaylee to get a picture of all of them.
The reptile part of the zoo is one of my least favorites, however, I did like to see all the cool snakes, lizards, turtles, and frogs. McKaylee wasn't scared of them at all. She would stare at them and point.
They have a Texas part of the Zoo. It it like a mini Old Western town. It is pretty cool. They showcase animals that are in Texas. I did not know it but they have otters here in Texas. One night when Russ went running he came home and was telling me all about this animal that he saw near a park with a pond. He kept telling me that it looked like a beaver but it wasn't. I didn't believe a word he said... like there could be otters in Texas. Yeah Right! If I believed Russ about him seeing an otter then I would have to believe his story about us having a lizard in our yard the size of a kimono dragon. I did however learn that they are in fact here in Texas and Russ did see an otter. I will have to be more trusting in the future.
This is the awesome video of the tiger. Take a look!

Let the Competition Begin!
On your Mark...Get set... GOOOOO!
Russ and I just finished a 12 week competition with my family. We did fairly well but we decided that we want to try it out again. We have changed some of the rules and the prizes. The competition will consist of 4 goals.
1) Exercise for 30 min every day (no Sundays)
2) No sugar/treats ( except Sunday)
3) Sleep at least 7 hours every night
4) our own personal goal.
We each will earn $1.00 every day. If we don't complete any one of the goals then we don't get any money that day. Also, we can only eat out 1 time a week. If we exceed that then we will take the money that we spent at dinner and subtract it from the total at the end of the competition. This way we can get physically fit, spiritually fit, and financially fit! At the end of the competition we calculated that we will have earned Approx. $300. Then we are going to take that money and go on a mini vacation to somewhere in Texas! We are so excited. Wish us luck!

Our girl's Firsts
Make a Smilebox slideshow |
I never thought that I would have such a hard time letting my little girls grow up. Russ and I have been talking for a while about when we wanted to convert McKaylee's crib into a toddler bed. I kept putting it off because I felt like the longer she was in a crib the longer she would never grow up. Of course, I know this is irrational thinking, but I can't believe how fast time goes by. Daphnee started crawling about a month ago and she has just recently started pulling herself up. Before we know it she will be walking and talking just like McKaylee. I love to watch them learn new things and be independant, I just hope that they never get too old for their mom.
